Hi, I’m Brett!
Let me tell you a little about myself…
I’m a mechanical engineer based out of Newport Beach, CA. Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, the Silicon Valley work ethic and problem solving curiosity are as much a part of me as the mountains and ocean.
My work in product design has brought me technical expertise in injection molding, metal forming, CAD modeling, simulation, material selection, testing, failure mode analysis, design for mass manufacturing, costing, vendor relations, and project management. All of my projects have combined safety or health requirements with industrial design, forcing me to balance engineering goals with consumer perception.
With exposure to many different business factions, I have learned that my long term goals and ambition lie beyond traditional technical engineering. As a broad example of what I have seen: The interplay between design decisions, costing, timelines, and distribution is as intricate a problem as it is fascinating. To better understand the decision making process across silos, I pursued my MBA in 2020, graduating in 2022 with honors as well as a renewed focus and vision.
Currently, I am honing my engineering skills while developing my business leadership acumen. My long term goal is to work my way to a director level role within research and development, then to an executive position where I can use my cross-functional skill set to make informed business decisions that harmonize stakeholder and employee needs.
When I’m not working, you can find me on a bike, snowboard, or surfboard depending on the season and where I am in the world. Apart from the outdoors, I enjoy reading, cooking with friends, and seeing live music. Inspired by many of the artists I am fond of, I recently picked up the guitar and quickly decided to make my own custom electric!
